Recently, Professor Wu Haitao, Dean of the School of Business Administration and Director of the MBA Education Center of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, was invited to an exclusive interview with AMBA Ambition, a leading journal in global business education. He shared the school’s innovative practices and strategic thinking in responsible management education in depth. Earlier, the school won the Gold Award of the 2025 AMBA&BGA Global Excellence in Business Education Awards for Best Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Initiative with its Compassionate Futures Nexus. The dual recognition marks that Chinese universities’ cutting-edge exploration in responsible management education has gained world-class recognition.

The AMBA&BGA Global Excellence in Business Education Awards are jointly reviewed by international academic and industry elites and known for strict standards. The award means the school’s practice has moved from localized exploration to global recognition, becoming an important reference for global business schools. AMBA Ambition is the flagship magazine of The Association of MBAs, a bellwether for global business education trends with in-depth discussions on responsible management, digital transformation and sustainable innovation.

In the interview, Dean Wu Haitao revealed the school’s core framework of strategization, systematization and synergy honed over a decade. With the mission of creating new business knowledge, contributing business wisdom and cultivating business elites, the school integrated five iconic brand activities via the Compassionate Futures Nexus, building a multidimensional responsible education ecosystem covering care for special groups, educational equity support and female leadership empowerment. This framework embeds responsible management education into courses, research, faculty evaluation and ecological construction with alumni, enterprises and governments.

Dean Wu Haitao emphasized the framework adheres to the vision of Rooted in ZUEL, Facing the World. It focuses on local needs like rural revitalization, and guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, released mainland China’s first MBA Education ESG Report and built a platform via the annual Forum on Responsibility, Innovation and Sustainable Development. This combination of localized innovation and international vision is key to global recognition.

Looking ahead, Dean Wu Haitao stated the school will take this international recognition as an opportunity to deepen innovation in responsible management education, strengthen exchanges with global business schools, and contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the sustainable development of global business education.
