From November 8th to 9th, 2025, the 2nd Forum on Intelligent Operations and Supply Chain Management Innovation was successfully held at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL). The event was hosted by the School of Business Administration (SBA) of ZUEL, co-organized by the School of Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, the School of Management of Wuhan University of Technology, and the School of Economics and Management of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), with support from the Institute of Systems Science and Smart Cities and the Institute of “Internet Plus Agriculture” Development at ZUEL.

With the theme “Innovation in Intelligent Operations and Supply Chain Management,” the forum combined keynote speeches, parallel sessions, and panel discussions, focusing on frontier topics such as digital platform supply chain management, data-driven agricultural supply chains, and smart logistics systems. Nearly 400 experts, scholars, graduate students, and industry representatives from almost 100 universities and research institutes across China attended the event, while the online livestream attracted over 3,000 views.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Zhu Fangwei, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of ZUEL, delivered a welcome speech. He expressed warm greetings to all guests and emphasized the crucial role of operations and supply chain management in serving national strategic development. The plenary session was co-chaired by Professor Li Jianping, Executive Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Management at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wu Haitao, Dean of the SBA. Experts from Anhui University of Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Wuhan University, Nankai University, and Tsinghua University delivered keynote reports, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics including digital intelligence, blockchain, urban governance, supply chain resilience, and low-carbon transformation.

In the afternoon, five parallel sub-forums and one roundtable discussion were held simultaneously. The sub-forums covered themes such as platform supply chains, supply chain management, sustainable operations, smart logistics, and agribusiness supply chains. Scholars from Fudan University, Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology, Tianjin University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and other institutions shared their latest research achievements. The roundtable discussion, themed “How to Conduct High-Level Scientific Research,” brought together distinguished scholars for thought-provoking exchanges on academic innovation and research excellence.
The successful convening of this forum showcased the SBA’s academic leadership and intellectual influence in the field of intelligent operations and supply chain management. It further contributed to promoting the high-quality development of business administration disciplines and injected new academic momentum into advancing China’s new quality productive forces.
